Job Summary: 

This airport position is fast paced and focused on a safe team environment. Work hours are variable, which may include, early starts, late finishes, weekends and public holidays. Delay's are a common factor and may carry over scheduled shift times?

Full training is provided to all successful applicants.

As you will be the first contact for Aus Flight Handling and the Airline you will be representing, greeting each passenger with a welcoming smile is important. You will check them in, issue a boarding pass, tag their bag, be it for business or pleasure and you will be there to guide them every step of the way. You will keep them well informed and make sure they are in the right place at the right time. You will need to follow all security, safety, Aus Flight Handling and airline specific policies and procedures

 Job Summary

We require a Permanent Part Time Ramp/Baggage Handler for our Ballina NSW Airport . The core purpose of the Ramp/Baggage handler is to marshal aircraft safely on to the parking bay. Position all GSE (Ground Services Equipment) and to safely marshal passengers to the terminal. Loading and unloading baggage and freight is also an important part of this position. You may also be called upon to clean the cabin of the aircraft. Once that is complete, you will be required to dispatch the aircraft including pushback operations. Other duties may include consigning freight and making sure the baggage make-up area is clean and ready for the next flight.  

Full training is provided for this position.

 What we will need from you:

  • Fluent in spoken English
  • Reliable, well presented, super-efficient.
  • Computer skills
  • Ability to work early starts, late finishes, weekends and public holiday’s
  • Current State Drivers Licence
  • Physically fit.  Ability to lift up to 32kg’s
  • Covid-19 vaccination required to work in aviation

Job Summary

The core purpose of the Customer Service Supervisor is to lead a team of customer service team members. This is a shift supervisor role. This involves maximising performance and culture across the areas of safety, efficiency and reliability and continuously exceeding the service delivery expectations of AFH clients (airlines) and their customers. With a focus on continuous development and improvement initiatives in business and operational performance, you will also build and maintain strong teams ensuring our employees feel valued, recognised and engaged.

 

Core Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management

  • Drive continuous improvement processes (business/ efficiency/ service/ quality/ safety/operational);
  • Coach and develop team and uphold staff disciplines and adherence to AFH, client and regulatory procedures and policies;
  • Conduct appraisals of the team and individual’s performance;
  • Handling of escalated staff grievances, complaints, discipline etc.;
  • Conduct interviews and appointment of new team members;
  • Maintain effective communication with all internal and external key stake holders
  • Lead a culture that values equality, fairness, and transparency, and zero tolerance for bullying, discrimination and harassment.


 

Operational
  • Demonstrate decision making and organisational skills to efficiently meet performance requirements and maintain schedule and operational integrity for our clients;
  • Ensure the team achieves defined key performance criteria including but not limited to on-time performance, mishandled baggage, revenue collection, service, precision timings and compliance;
  • Maintain an exceptional standard of service to all passengers for all clients;
  • Drive operational efficiency through effective management of labour budgets, and continuous process improvement;
  • Ensure smooth running of our operations with a proactive and pre-emptive approach;
  • Proactively identify operational weaknesses and implement corrective actions;
  • Provide OH&S supervision and guidance;
  • Final oversight and sign-off of accurate KPI’s, incident investigations, and other reporting;
  • Ensuring accurate records are kept in relation to time sheets, work performed, training and incidents;
  • Prepare company and client defined reports and administrative functions;
  • Assist with operational duties;
  • Other duties and required.


 

Qualifications/Experience
  • Aviation and/or Leadership/Management qualifications desirable;
  • Effective management of a team of up to 8 employees on any given day;
  • Ground handling experience in a leadership role with a focus on customer service;
  • Intermediate skills with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and Email;
  • Proven leadership and management skills in a multi-faceted environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to influence a team to achieve positive business and operational outcomes.


 

Required Competencies
  • Ability to work with minimal direction, displaying initiative and motivation, ensuring that tasks are completed on time and in full detail; and be a participative and supportive team member;
  • Working knowledge of Australian aviation regulations, along airport and airline operational policies and procedures;
  • Understanding of OH&S framework, practices and principles;
